The Model Town Board (trafficmodeltown.co.ke) is run by Suheil Aroi in Kenya. This page says what the board keeps about you, why, and what you can ask for. We follow Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we keep

  • Students in a class: the name you type when you join, and your attempts (the moves you made, the time and the result). Your instructor sees them. No account, email or phone number is needed.
  • Instructors: your email address (to sign in), the scenarios you save, your classes and your students' attempts.
  • Messages you send on the contact page: your name, how to reach you and your message.
  • On your own phone: the board keeps a few settings and your progress in your browser's storage. It stays on your phone.
  • Visits: Google Analytics counts visits (the pages opened, the kind of device, the country). It does not tell us who you are. If you press No thanks on the bar at the bottom, your visits are no longer counted on that device.

Why

To run the board: to let students join classes, let instructors see and mark attempts, answer your messages, and understand which pages help so we can improve them. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

Classes, attempts, scenarios and messages are kept with Google Firebase, on servers in Belgium (Europe). Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics. Both are run by Google.

How long

Attempts and classes are kept only as long as they are useful for teaching; instructors can delete them. Messages are deleted once they have been dealt with. You can ask for anything to be deleted at any time.

Cookies

The board itself needs no cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits. You can stop it on this device:

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we keep about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how it is used. Contact us and we will answer within 14 days. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.

Children

The board is for learner drivers and their instructors. If you are under 18, use it with the knowledge of your parent, guardian or instructor.
